Kindly – and expertly – conducted by Teresa Weston, the tour of the famed wall paintings in Willingham’s St. Mary and All Saints Church was a great success. The roving audience comprised some 20 attendees – all very engaged and duly amazed at what treasures have lain in their midst, long documented by Willingham’s own Alan Fawcitt but largely undiscovered (by them) until Sunday.

It seems the warm weather brought out quite a few people to walk around the village on Feast Sunday, 7th October, taking in the photography and art exhibitions as well in a three-stop circuit. The feedback was very positive, indicating a multiplier effect with possibly even more people attending next time. A larger crowd would mean using the Church’s audio system, and an urgent need to lay on a cup of tea at the end – not least for Teresa!
